The main goal of our mahi is to protect, manage, and develop our assets for the commercial, cultural, and social advancement of our whānau, hapū, and iwi.
Our mahi is driven by the long term vision of our whānau. To maximise our efforts and investments, our decision-making focuses on leveraging our strengths: our depth and wealth of understanding of our people, our culture, our history, and the spiritual, social, and economic wellbeing of our people and place. We amplify our outcomes by working in partnership and connection with others who share our vision and goals.
To enact the greatest sustainable change for our people, we are focussed on 4 areas:
Housing
Our projects and services aim to address housing needs in our rohe. By improving the quality of homes, we ensure better life outcomes. By building and repairing homes we provide employment and upskilling for whānau.
Taiao
Our projects and services aim to help restore our natural environment and enable the effective, and sustainable management of our land, mountains, lakes, rivers, hot springs, wetlands, and sea.
Horticulture
Our projects and services aim to better use land, create a sustainable economic sector in the rohe, and provide more jobs, careers, and educational opportunities
Investments
Our investments aim to generate sustainable financial growth through careful management. We assess and engage in investments considering their commercial viability, as well as their social, cultural, and environmental value and impact. We also look at the potential for member employment opportunities.
